Holiday music fans were able to ring in Christmas and the holidays with the music of the season!
The Davis County Fine Arts Council's Spectrum Center for the Arts presented a Davis County Community Choir Concert, entitled “Hallelujah to Hoedown and Everything in Between," 30 Voices in Song. The concert was held Thursday, December 22 at the Iowa Theatre in Bloomfield at 7:30 p.m. The event was free will donation. A reception followed the concert. There was an art display by Spectrum Artists in the Kay Burchette Cultural Center.
The Music Director was Lyle Stirling.
Singers included Gail VanMersbergen, Leah Archer, Jessica Snyder, Karen Spurgeon, Janice Batterson, Emilee Bailey, Stacie Knox, Lori Bailey, Elaine VonBon, Julie Gentz, Cathy Roberts, Rosalee Russell, Christina Weets, April Woosley, Kirstina Gratz, Phyllis Aeschliman, Joan Peterson, Julie Griffin, Dixie Mozingo, Steven Nash, Chris Griffin, Justin Snyder, Brian Gentz, Tim McBride, Robert VonBon, Aaron Gingerich, Ryan Snyder, Paul Peterson, Christopher Gingerich, Mark Taylor, Bill Baughman, Lloyd Meitzner and others.
Choir selections included Oh Come, All Ye Faithful, Because It’s Christmas, The Three Kings, Of the Father’s Love Begotten, River in Judea, Down Home Deck the Hall, Special Night, December Child, Hallelujah Chorus.
There were additional performances by Kirstina Gratz, Julie & Chris Griffin (Lion of Judah), Steven Nash (O Holy Night) and the Davis County High School Show Choir.
Piano Accompanists were Gail VanMersbergen and Karen Spurgeon. Instrumentalists were Leah Archer (Violin), Tim McBride (Percussion), Samantha Kanselaar (Flute), Jen Hopwood (Guitar) and Philip Gingerich (Guitar).
